Jennifer Garner was born on the 17th of April, 1972 in Houston, Texas but was born within Charleston, West Virginia. William John Garner was her father, and was a chemical engineer for Union Carbide. Patricia Ann was a teacher at the local university. The father of her was an engineer in the chemical industry so she wanted to be like his. To fulfill her ambition to be an actor, she decided to move in New York and try her attempt at Hollywood. The restaurant she worked in was as well as appearing in Broadway shows. She had a cameo role in the series "Felicity." (It was on that show when she met her first husband Scott Foley.) Garner was given her first major performance with "13 Going on 30" the romantic comedy that was well-received. Garner played a teenage girl who was trapped within her body as an adult. Garner decided to choose Gary Winick to direct the film; they kept looking for new projects together until his death in 2011. Garner was appointed as an artist ambassador by Save the Children U.S.A. in 2009, was an important role within the organization. Role includes national literacy promotion, nutrition, early education, and many different aspects. Garner is a board member on the organization's board since 2014, serves as an advocate of early education. She visits many families in Early Steps to School Success the program created to teach parents how to help their child's learning - as an ambassador.
