Her conception took place on the 29th of March, 1985 in Roswell near New Mexico. Gerina Michel Mendoza was her birthname. Gerina Stevenson is the daughter of Mexican parentage Rita Stevenson and Alan Stevenson. She is of Mexican-American heritage and is American in citizenship. The desire to be a sportsperson was born as a toddler. Gerina began playing golf after she turned 15 years old. Gerina graduated from Goddard High School. While in highschool, Gerina was the winner of the New Mexico golf state tournament. Also, she played volleyball at the level of state. At the age of 2003, she enrolled at the University of Texas. In her senior year she was a winner of every tournament she entered. During undergraduate studies, she earned the titles that included Conference USA Female Athlete and Conference USA Individual Player of the Years.
